Rose Lapel Sale

Its been a while since I last posted on this Blog. I hope to keep this up to date going forward with current news concerning our council. This weekend we collect funds for the National Life Center in Woodbury to assist unwed mothers after all masses @ St. Agnes Church in Blackwood. I plan to attend the Chapter Christmas Dinner and meeting this Wed at Santa Maria Council. Several of us will accompany a group of brother knights who will take their 3rd Degree Friday, also at Santa Maria. Thursday is our normal scheduled business meeting starting 8:00pm OLOH Parish Center.

End of Columbian Year

We have a chance of making Star Council for the 2009-2010 Columbian Year. Star Council is the highest and most prestigious award a council can achieve. We met our membership quota (17), our insurance goal (6) and I believe we ran enough service programs to be elible for Columbian Award which is given to councils that run at least 4 events in all the major categories. All forms have been submitted to Supreme, we are crossing our fingers and waiting their decision.

New Blog

Hello. Not sure if anyone is reading this blog if you are you are more than welcome to comment. Going forward I hope to publish a quick sentence or two on what is happening with the council as they occur. A lot is happening and thought this would be a good place to keep a record of current events. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Happy Easter to all! We just wrapped up a successful membership drive led by Tom Conway and we hosted 519 parishioners at our Parish Appreciation Breakfast. Thanks to John Colaiaini for organizing the event. Our council sponsored a new seminarian and voted to sponsor a Blackwood Little League Team. Looking forward to a busy April where we are organizing many council and charitable activities.

Free Throw Tournament

One of my favorite events, the council Free Throw Basketball Tournament was held Saturday Jan 18th 10:00am at St. Agnes Parish Center. A total of twenty four boys and girls ages 10-14 participated. The winners of each age group are invited to the District Free Throw in February. Thanks to all the parents, kids, and brother knights who helped make the event a success.

Robert Stefano Funeral

Just attended Bob's funeral mass and burial. It was one of the most beautiful and moving ceremonies I have ever attended. Many of his friends, family and Brother Knights along with the Fourth Degree Color Corps paid a lasting tribute to a great man. I will personally miss him.
